Yellowstone Families,
Today marks our first official day back in action after spring break. We served dozens of families through the Houston Food Bank trailer drive-through on campus and served over 200 meals to our families at our cafeteria gate or at our bus stops. The trailer will be on campus again Tuesday and Wednesday this week, starting at 10:00 a.m. We will also have our grab-and-go station at the cafeteria and will be delivering meals tomorrow through our bus routes. We have updated the bus route information here: Click to download. Please take advantage of these services as we continue to refine the best way to serve our community.
Your child’s teacher will be reaching out to talk to you by phone either late Tuesday afternoon or sometime Wednesday. Please make sure your contact information is updated in Skyward so that we are able to get in touch with you. This call will be critical, as we will use the conversation to help drive the way we deliver instruction to you over the weeks to come.
In addition to the call, you will receive some suggested activities for the week and an assignment we are asking every student to complete by Friday. This week, our teachers will be working through your responses to determine how we can use technology, what supplies families will need, and how we can support your student’s ongoing learning. By Monday, March 30, you will be hearing even more about that academic program and how you will be able to partner with us to ensure your student continues to grow academically.
In the meantime, please check back to our website for additional resources and updated information about our response to COVID-19. While there is not someone physically present in our front office, you can still leave us a message at 713-741-8000, and we will do our best to return the call within 24 hours. We want to hear from you and stand ready to support you as we push forward through these uncertain times.
We look forward to following up soon.
