August 10 Updates

Yellowstone Families,

We are now just two weeks away from the start of the 2020-21 school year on August 24th! We are so excited to welcome your students back to Yellowstone Academy and Yellowstone College Prep. This is the first of several communications you will receive this week to make sure that we are all prepared for the start of the school year.

URGENT: FILL OUT YOUR FAMILY SURVEY IN SKYWARD

We have posted a new survey in your Skyward account that we need you to complete as soon as possible. The survey takes less than five minutes to complete for your family. Click here to log in to Skyward.

This survey asks if you will need a Chromebook and/or hotspot in order for your student to participate in our home learning platform, questions about whether you will need weekly meals once the school year begins, and it also asks you to choose whether you plan to do on-campus instruction or home learning for the rest of the semester. You must go into your Skyward account to answer this survey for each of your enrolled students. Click here to log in to Skyward.

If you need help logging in to Skyward, please call (713) 741-8000 and our front office staff will assist you. Thank you for your prompt attention to this and please let us know if you have any questions.

Chromebook Distribution, School Supplies and Uniforms

We will be distributing chromebooks and headphones for all Yellowstone students (YA and YCP) next Wednesday through Friday, August 19-21. During this time, Yellowstone College Pep students will also be picking up supplies and uniforms for home learning. We will be sending more details about these distribution days later this week.

As we discussed during Parent Orientation, it is expected that all Yellowstone College Prep students will be in uniform for home learning. We are providing the first two shirts for you and you will receive more information about how you can purchase additional shirts later this week. Yellowstone Academy students will begin wearing uniforms and receive their supplies when we return to on-campus instruction in early September.

Coming Soon: School Schedules and Instructions for First Day of Home Learning

You will receive communication by early next week with the expectations for your student’s home learning that will begin on August 24. Teachers and staff will be reaching out to you by phone and email to finalize these details and make sure that you are prepared for the first day.

Please begin preparing your students now for the transition back to school! At all grade levels, the day will include a mix of scheduled class meetings and independent work time. We can’t wait to share more about what Yellowstone will be offering this fall for you and you student. Thank you for your patience as we put these final details and logistics together. As always, if you have any questions do not hesitate to call us at (713)741-8000. We look forward to following up with you again soon.

Thanks,

The Yellowstone Team
