Grant Amount: 17500

Grant Term: 17500

Houston, TX (October 18, 2018) – Yellowstone Academy is pleased to announce it has received a $17,500 grant from the 2018 Local Missions Outreach Program of the Church of St. John the Divine. These funds will go directly toward providing a high quality and holistic education for approximately 350 deserving students.  As each student receives a scholarship that covers up to 99% of their cost of attendance, funds from the The Church of St. John the Divine will strongly support our scholars as they strive for academic excellence. Yellowstone Academy’s educational program delivers the best of both the private and the public school models. At Yellowstone, we couple the rigorous academics, dynamic teachers, and robust athletic and extracurricular programming that are hallmarks of private schools with the support that public schools routinely provide to students, including free transportation, free daily meals, and social services. We also connect with the parents of our students on a consistent and substantive basis to promote strong family participation in their child’s educational success and individual well-being. “The Church of St. John the Divine has been an important partner in ministry with Yellowstone for many years now,” said Ryan Dolibois, executive director of Yellowstone Academy. “As we launch Yellowstone College Prep this fall, we are grateful for this show of support from our long-time friends.” For nearly 80 years, the Church of St. John the Divine has been a leader in outreach ministries here in Houston. In 2017 the congregation gave away more than $1.4 million to approximately 80 ministries locally and internationally through a competitive grant application and review process. They are committed to a holistic Christian community development approach and seek to have the kind of impact that deeply changes lives for generations to come.
