Self-Guided Prayer Walk Prompts

Thank you for joining us in prayer! Please use these prompts to help guide you as you pray for our students, teachers, and staff. The prayer walk is designed to begin in front of Yellowstone Schools’ primary parking lot, at the large “Yellowstone Academy” sign.

Please remain outside of the black fence at all times for the health and safety of all. You are welcome to walk around the perimeter of our campus, or you may stay in your vehicle and drive to each stop. You may also use this guide at home or in a small group setting to help guide your prayers for our students. Thank you for partnering with us!

Yellowstone Academy Sign (Sauer Street between Hadley and Trulley)

“Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.’” —Matthew 19:14 (NIV)

Let us pray for all the students who will be blessed by Yellowstone Schools.

Almighty God, bless all the students whose lives are closely linked with ours, and grant that we may serve Christ in them, and love them as Christ loves us. Keep them safe from all harm. May nothing stand against them as they learn to seek your kingdom. Build them up in your way, so that when they grow old they will not depart from it. May their lives shine like stars in the sky as they hold tightly to you, the author and perfecter of our faith.

Playground / Blacktop (at the corner of Trulley and Hadley)

“Clap your hands, all you nations; shout to God with cries of joy.” — Psalm 47:1 (NIV)

Let us give thanks for the joy of children playing.

Almighty God, we give you thanks and praise for the joy of children. We pray that you will be with each and every student. Bless their coming and their going. Bless their learning and their playing. Please protect their hearts from fear. Please keep them safe and surround them with good friends. Give them joy this day, and thank you for loving them from head to toe.

Mailbox (walk towards I-45 and take a right on Trulley)

“The Lord will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands.” —Deuteronomy 28:12 (NIV)

Let us pray for the teachers at Yellowstone Schools.

O Lord, you who have called and equipped the teachers in our community, we pray for them today. Watch over them, provide for them, guide them, sustain them. May you be their sun and shield, so that they might do the work that you have entrusted to them and sense your care in these uncertain times.

Prayer Garden / Stone Benches (Trulley Street, between Sauer and Briley)

Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom.” —James 3:13 (NIV)

Let us pray for the administrators at Yellowstone.

O God, you who have promised wisdom to all who would ask it, we pray today for school administrators, that you would grant them clarity of mind, unity of spirit, strength of will, a heart of wisdom and the gift of your truth-bearing Spirit, so that they might be enabled to make decisions that lead to the flourishing of their teachers, staff, and students and to the wellbeing of the whole community.

Corner of Briley and Trulley (continue walking down Trulley Street)

“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.” —Matthew 7:24-27 (NIV)

Let us pray for the alumni of Yellowstone Schools.

Lord God, bless the alumni of Yellowstone Schools. May they remember that they, too, were once students, and you made a path for them where there was none. Guide them as they continue to live lives built on the foundation of Christ Jesus. May their lives glorify your name.

Corner of Hadley and Briley (turn right on Briley Street)

“See, I am doing a new thing!

Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?

I am making a way in the wilderness

    and streams in the wasteland.”

— Isaiah 43:19 (NIV)

Let us pray for the future plans of Yellowstone Schools.

Father, please bless Yellowstone’s plans to provide expanded facilities for students in this community that will promote growth, development, and learning. Please provide all of the wisdom, finances, and resources to build this expansion. We ask you to provide abundant funding, competent professionals, and skilled laborers for the construction. May these facilities stand as a beacon of light and hope for the students we seek to serve. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

May the love of God be the passion in your heart.

May the joy of God be your strength when times are hard.

May the presence of God be a peace that overflows.

May the Word of God be the seed that you might sow.
